Rev. Jim Genesse An ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church, Jim began his role as Administrative Pastor at Madison Methodist Church in March of 2024. He previously served as Senior Pastor at our church from 2009-2016. He has also pastored Mississippi churches large and small across Mississippi including Starkville, Long Beach, Jackson, Booneville, Collins, as well as in Lexington, Kentucky.
He served as a District Superintendent for the Senatobia District, as well as a stint as campus minister at the Northeast Mississippi Community College Wesley Foundation. Prior to entering the ministry he worked in disaster response, serving as Deputy Director for the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
A native of Florida but a lifelong resident of his adopted home state of Mississippi, Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Miami, and a Master of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree from Wesley Biblical Seminary. He is married to Margaret, a Jackson native, former nurse, and choir member. They have a son Mike, daughter in-law Michaela, and three awesome grandsons Austin, Jaxson, and Mason. In his spare time Jim likes reading history, playing at golf, and all things railroading.
